It's the bomb. (product alert & craft)

How freaking cute are these little happiness nuggets??
Yes, while most folks call them seed bombs, I like to call them happiness nuggets.
You will too, if you know what's good for you.
they come in cutely designed bags from anthropologie.

Made from a mixture of clay, compost, and seeds, these "seedbombs" are becoming an increasingly popular means (ahem, why won't anyone call them HAPPINESS NUGGETS?) combating the many forgotten gray spaces encountered everyday - from sidewalk cracks to vacant lots and parking medians. They can be thrown anonymously into these derelict urban sites to temporarily reclaim and transform them into places worth looking at and caring for.
they come in vending machines!
-cropping up in San Francisco/Los Angeles and Chicago-
"The Greenaid dispensary simply makes these guerilla gardening efforts more accessible to all by appropriating the existing distribution system of the quarter operated candy machine."
And if vending machines haven't started popping up in your neighborhood, you can order them directly online.  It looks like they come in regionally appropriate floral mixes, which is perfect for our various climates, other indigenous plants, etc.

But why not try making some of your own variety?
Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times
REALLY hoping some of you will do this soon.

And if you're thinking to yourself,
"wow, is this another non-wedding related post? good for you, leslie!"

Not to worry:

Dysonamite (product alert!)

To break up the monotony of wedding-related posts, have you guys seen this thing?
What? You can't tell what it is?

Look again.
Is it a time machine?
A tv satellite?
A spotlight?

Nope.
None of the above.

It's a freaking FAN.

A THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR FAN.
The Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan works very differently from conventional fans. It uses Air Multiplier™ technology to draw in air and amplify it 15 times, producing an uninterrupted stream of smooth air with no unpleasant buffeting. With no blades or grill, it is safe to use and easy to clean. It pivots on its own center of gravity, staying put without clamping, and has a dimmer switch control to precisely adjust airflow power. Also has one-touch oscillation for 90° rotation.

And thanks for all the love in response to my last post. Although it's super embarrassing, I couldn't help but sheepishly share it. I've got loads of others as apparently this was the one time I wasn't shy about having a crush on a guy....

Self-guided tour through Los Angeles.

Have you noticed that our household is universally obsessed with movies, television, commercials and all things film related? Then you can imagine how our self-guided tour through LA went last week, right?

me: "Oooh, this was filmed HERE."
Jamie: "Oh man, that was filmed THERE."
both: "Coooool..."

What's the deal with the line @ Pink's??
Mulholland Drive, Nip/Tuck, and Jackass filmed here.
Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Soloist, 24, Alvin+Chipmunks, and Ironman filmed here.
Beverly Hills City Hall.
90210, BH Cop 1-2-3, Chihuahua...all filmed here.
Picked up an application for marriage license in this building.
Woah. Woah. WOAH.
Los Angeles Superior Court.
Paris received her probation terms here in '07.
Destiny Hope Cyrus officially became MILEY Ray Cyrus here in '08.
Perez Hilton sued the Black Eyed Peas here in June '09.
And they just approved the Michael Jackson movie here a couple weeks ago.
Bradbury Building built in 1893.
Blade Runner, Pushing Daisies, Lethal Weapon 4 filmed here.
Aaaand (500) Days of Summer.
Park overlooking Continental Building - oldest skyscraper in LA.
(500) Days of Summer filmed here...lots.
Have I mentioned (500) Days of Summer yet? I loved that movie.
Jamie was escorted off the property for getting this shot-- NEVER prouder.
American Gigolo, Troop Beverly Hills, and Pretty Woman filmed here.
Anyone else singing: "Beverly Hills, what a thrill..."?
Heyyyy! Big metal door.
Don't know if anything has been filmed here yet.
Well, except for that guy.

Dirrrrty Dancing.

I know EVERY line of this movie. Like, EVERY line.

Well...except, as I discovered last week....

The line that proved Jamie right.
"Dirty Dancing was a period piece that took place in the 60s!!!" he said in between wild guffaws and knee slapping.
Dammit.

Literally, until last week, I totally thought Baby + Patrick got it on in the 80s.

Literally...until last week.
"That was the summer of 1963 - when everybody called me Baby, and it didn't occur to me to mind. That was before President Kennedy was shot, before the Beatles came, when I couldn't wait to join the Peace Corps, and I thought I'd never find a guy as great as my dad. That was the summer we went to Kellerman's."
What the hell?? How did I NOT KNOW THIS?? I mean, other than that line, couldn't you all be convinced it took place in the 80s as well? Is it just me?

What is this MINCED??

Is everyone else CRACKING UP at this commercial?
I've been walking around asking everyone if things are MINCED.
Also, thanks so much for the general level of excitement about the Kantaharas! I've been lobbying for Jamie to either take my last name OR for both of us to legally change BOTH of our names to Kantahara. Things aren't looking in my favor, but don't think this means I'm going to cease my efforts. Ooh, that means we'll have to alter some of Hudson's paperwork as well. The vet is going to be mighty confused.
