One of our tables at thanksgiving.

The morning after this glorious Thanksgiving dinner, Jamie hopped on a flight to.....
(meant to post this at the end of Nov)
(although, now that i look at it, the turkey feathers look more like candy corn than holiday plummage...poor confused 'roo)
As I implied in the beginning of this post, Tuckies are taking full advantage of the extended winter break and doing all sorts of fun stuff with their time:
- Completing short-ish internships with companies in their related field (shopping around!).
- Returning to their home countries to spend time with friends and family overseas.
- Job hunting and interviewing for full-time positions for post-Tuck.
- Staying in Hanover to take mini-winter classes (3 weeks each) with top and/or visiting professors.
- Staying in Hanover to work on their entrepreneurship ideas and/or companies that have developed from the TSOB (tuck school of business).
- Traveling with groups of friends to all sorts of exotic locations on continent treks: China, Prague, Switzerland, and a large group is currently working their way through south america and they've been posting all sorts of photos of Patagonia, the Igazu Falls (like the movie, Up!), penguins, nightclubs in Argentina. Fun, fun fun.
Jamie, on the otherhand, is in...
Australia!
That's right, Jamie's wrapping up the second of three weeks in Sydney. He's on a Global Consultancy Project with 6 of his classmates and having a terrific time. Companies around the world "hire" groups of 7-8 Tuckies to do research, analysis, and solutions development. I put quotation marks around hire because while they're not earning a paycheck, their airfare, room and board, and other incidentals are covered for this 3 week period. Hmmm...I think there might be up to 10 different groups scattered across the globe right now. Spectacular! Jamie's been working on a project, gaining international experience, and spending the evenings and weekends frolicking about the city down under. Beaches! In December! Hooray!
Starting Monday, I'll meet up with him and some of our friends to explore Cairns, Sydney, and Melbourne over the course of 15 days. My 24 hour journey will take me through Toronto and Vancouver before the 15.5 hour flight straight to Sydney...getting there from this coast and choosing Air Cananda certainly adds on a chunk of time* (he scored a more direct route from Boston > SF > Sydney). If you have any suggestions of things we ought to see/do/eat/play*, let me know.
xo,
leslie
**i was lucky enough to be in australia 8 years ago so jamie's been taking advantage of the 3 week head start and taking care of some core touristy things before i meet up with him. this trip will be all new.
