Oh, so many things....
First of all, New Jersey totally kicked my ass. Our meetings started at 7:3o am, which meant I was waking up at 3am California time and I'm just not as pretty when waking up that early! I have no idea why they don't take out-of-time-zone travelers into consideration when planning these things. We were stuck in a crappy hotel ballroom until 5:30pm with 5 minute bathroom breaks and 35 minute lunches. There were 200+ people trying to squeeze into hotel lobby bathrooms and through 2 lines of crappy hotel buffet for each meal! If you weren't part of the first 15 people out, you were beyond screwed. I was so grumpy all day long and was basically a zombie in every session. It was particularly brutal when I knew I had to get up super early, but couldn't, because who can go to bed @ SEVEN pm?
The super highlight of the week was grabbing dinner with Debi, her newly marriedness, and her dog, Jackson! We definitely spent a good amount of time trying to identify how we even became friends at camp. Was it REALLY only 8weeks of our lives? We had completely different days off and weekly activities, which are really the only two places to get to know someone @ camp. I must've just been cool-by-association through some second year folks, right? Any insight from those who may know? I distinctively remember crashing at her house post-camp and thinking that she was a friend to keep because Debi not only let me stay with her, but she cooked a huge dinner, AND invited me back that winter after a reunion ski-trip! Who does that?
Anyway, it was great to catch up in person on the stuff that doesn't quite make it onto our blogs. I know, it's practically unimaginable to think that there's anything that I couldn't write about here, right? :)
i LOVED little jackson kisses and great hugs from debs!

Fun recap from her right here. In other news, I got to read the Times cover-to-cover during my flight out and I hit my head really hard when standing up to get to the bathroom on my flight back. The plane went through an air pocket and dropped down, but my body stayed put so I crashed my noggin into an overhead cabin. More on this tomorrow. My camera's finally in with the Geek Squad guys @ Best Buy and I'm supposed to get a call about it in a week...that whole experience made me crave a new episode of Chuck. And in the bad news department, one of my sister's friends got in a terrible skateboarding accident a few days ago, suffered some pretty brutal cerebral edema, and was taken off of life support yesterday. While searching for an article to link here, I found out that Robbins of Baskin-Robbins passed away last month.
Stay posted for other happenings. I can't use all of it in one night, you guys.

bastards! to make you wake so early. i would protest and appear in my pajamas. maybe i wouldn't but i'd think long and hard about it!
awkward question: was the friend removed from life support because she was doing better or because she passed away?
aww lesss!! sorry didn't know you just got back from ur trip the other day. that's a sucky work schedule!
in response to the question: my friend, scott, was removed from life support because he was pronounced brain dead the day before. he agreed to donate his organs so they had to take him off so his organs could still help the lives of others. he was only 19 years old.
that post covered a lot of topics. i owe you a phone call though but it is too early in ca right now.
that is awesome that you got to see deb! sure made the best out of a suck-ass trip...but that is the way you roll! you are such an optimistic! :)
I hope you are caught up on sleep! I would of been grumpy too!
lots of topics, yup.
and ya, sorry. i should have been a bit more clear about amy's friend. so sad, right? what's the point of that?
it was sooooo great to see you! hopefully with your new job you'll still come to NJ once in a while.
that's so fun you guys got to have a visit! I know, was that seriously only 8 weeks of our lives? If you add up fun+memories+friends made+ friends KEPT (so impressive) you'd have think we all went to college together for 4 years or something.
so sorry to hear about amy's friend. At least other people were given the chance to live thanks to his organs....but besides that, what a horribly sad story.
so sad about amy's friend :( that's terrible..
i also dislike how our company makes us get up so early for sales meeting...yuck!
p.s. reunion ski trip was super fun! i distinctly remember the cars we were in getting stuck in the snow at debbie's house b/c of a huge snowstorm. i think..yea?
glad that Debi got to brighten your trip. What year was it that you were all at the ski reunion. I really think it was the reunion I was stuck in my room with bronchitis and ear infections.
Or, I was just being to cool for school.
