Recycle - Arizona Shirt for Dog (sew)

**thanks to those who commented on the last post. we're sending things over there through work as a team and of course, through the three of us.
Arizona bit it hard against USC Thursday night which made for a pretty mopey roommate. To cheer him up and to pass time while pretending to enjoy a bad basketball game, I cut up one of his old, grungy shirts into a UofA dog jersey. Some folks turn shirts into rags to clean the house, but we just don't clean, like ever, so that idea's completely worthless to this pair of lazy apt-dwellers. Anything other moments of brilliance with an old tee? This one took about 35 minutes total (from conception to "pattern" to finish) and I feel all environmentally responsible for recycling an otherwise garbage-worthy piece of material.
take an old shirt and cut into large sq.drape like Rami on Project Runway and just estimate fit/size.
sew a tube and cut out holes for the front paws. recruit a cooperative fit-model. sew some material right-side down onto back of shirt.
cut out the white shirt to reveal your patch!

throw it on the now reluctant fit-model and admire the sausage-casing-like quality of your work.

*editor's note: it'd be a REALLY good idea to contour the bottom 1/2 to not cover up your dog's...um...privates. otherwise, hudson will pee all over the underside of his newly created shirt. whoops. done and done. poor guy.

a few more photos here.
