Yo. I was running around after work tonight, trying to get errands completed before taking off for the weekend. Drop off prescriptions to pick up in the morning, storage unit to pick up a package, run to the mall for a strapless bra and other random stuff. Two tangents...
I've always been one of those kids who had to strip down when returning home from school. You know what I mean? Like, simultaneously throwing off the shirt while kicking each shoe into a corner? It's a habit I have yet to boot. I can now theorize that it either represented a shedding of the day's trials/tribulations or had to do with those scratchy/wool socks, scratchy/wool skirts, constricting button-up shirts, and scratchy/wool sweaters I had to wear everyday to school. Not to mention that awful, awful, awful blazer. Yes, it too was scratchy & wool. Damn you, Catholic school uniforms!!Tangent 2 - I totally took advantage of the valet @ Nordstrom tonight. Totally ludicrous, but it shaves off about 25min of parking (back and forth of going into the garage, finding a spot, and walking a city block to the store upon which you spend a minimum of 5min escalating to the 4th floor where Nord occupies the next 3 or 4 floors).
So then, how odd is it that I STILL wear a "uniform" that I can stand for only about 8.5hrs before running into the door and STRIPPING DOWN. Jacket over banister, heels into corner, and I throw myself onto the couch in a dramatic sigh. It's all a great act, really. Fun to watch, I'm sure. You'd think I would have learned something as a kid and selected a career path that allowed me to wear pjs all day. Damn you, work suits!!
Ok, now back to the story @ hand. So, I was done with my errands and desperate to get home to remove the aforementioned suit. BUT...wait a sec....why are those 5 people carrying pillows over there? And...huh? A block away, another group of pillow carriers? And another? And ANOTHER? What the hell is going on?? I kept driving towards the water and came upon THIS:
Video of the scene.
Ferry Building --> Bay Bridge --> Madness!!
I took this just around 8:30pm and found out it started at SIXpm;
can't believe they were still going at it!

- Much better pictures than I took, but from last year.
