Tara and I took an impromptu trip out to visit Dev+Patrick, see Becca while she was out there for training for work, and to take in the midwest for another holiday! We took off from Oakland, landed at MidwayAirport sometime before 10pm on Friday, had an awesome dinner in the WestLoop, woke up to Patrick partaking in some old-fashioned Irish Amstel Light, and headed downtown to take in festivities. Obviously, a couple of pubs were involved, multiple "Irish carbombs" (is that a p.c. drink title?), a few "cement mixers", a grand time with Christine Bozich of Cayuga days, and some Mexican munchies at the end of the night. Ahhhh, nothing like a cheesy enchilada to settle the drinking-all-day tummy. Sunday included some recovering time, a bit of window shopping, a delicious sushi dinner, and then we flew back to Cali first thing Monday morning. :( I wanna go back!
Dev+Patrick's loft looks soooo amazing, courtesy of new and strategically painted walls delineating where one area begins and another ends; the muted purpley-grey is my fave. And I really have to say, as female as I may be, the mounted plasma TV on exposed brick really/really tickled my fancy! I really wish I bothered to take pics, but apparently completely neglected to do so. Damn. Anyway, it's really coming along and I can't wait to see future progress!
My previous post alluded to some antics from our own, personal St.Patrick, and I hope the link works now for everyone. Patrick honestly came through full-force in the entertainment department. Seriously, I know I'm not the one dealing with a sprained ankle or scabs on my face/ear/tongue/knee/hands or splitting headache from slamming my brain into the ground, but it was TOTALLY worth it.
Here's a highlight of other antics:
