when this guy decided he needed to be in the shot with us.
We had a stupendous time with Jamie's dad and stepmom, careening through the hills of LA to make it to our 8pm show. Grabbed a quick bite a the Kodak Theater (where the Academy Awards are held now) and scooted our way into the JAM-PACKED Hollywood Bowl. It was my first time at this historic venue, built in 1919, and I thought it was just so neat! Very natural looking throughout the outer arena, with meandering paths that were seemingly built into the surrounding forest, and very few vendors that seemingly reduced the amount of waste and clutter. Definitely adds to the aesthetic of a lcoation to allow people to bring in their own wine + picnic baskets (vs disgusting beer gardens and overflowing port-a-potties).

I kid you not though, we were amongst the 4 total "young" people in attendance! To put it in perspective, Neil opened with a GOITER joke, you guys. GOITER. Like what people used to suffer from before the started fortifying our salt with iodine...like in 1920 or something. I realize that the only other pictures include strangers that fall outside of this category, but it kinda felt rude to stare at the 45,000 octogenarians rocking out to "I'm a Believer!" in slow motion, let alone take pictures of them! :)

how fun! i know none of his songs but my mom has some of his albums (they're these large disc things, like 3 times the size of a cd and black - so odd looking)
glad you enjoyed the bowl. a lot of concerts at the bowl won't allow you to bring booze in so you have to get sneaky :)

Josh is going to be jealous! Neil is coming to SLC but we are going to be in IL for Christmas...sad we will miss out! Glad you had fun!
awesome! my mom got me into neil diamond when i was about 7. rock on neil.
the los angeles symphony orchestra used to practice at the hollywood bowl on weekedays (we're talking in the 80's) and people could just walk in for free, so my mom used to take me there when i was little. i think she was trying to make me smart. sadly, this did not work out.
